Baccarat – the unique thrill!
Baccarat is an exclusive game with special rules – making it distinctly different from games like blackjack where you make you moves after the cards are dealt. In Baccarat – your initial decision is final….and you'll be left biting your nails for the final outcome! The good news is that unlike games such as blackjack, this betting concept makes the game very simple, with just three betting options:
1.Bet on the house
2.Bet with the player
3.Bet on a draw
The simple goal of every baccarat round is is to place a bet on the combo that holds a score as close to 9 as possible. Note the card scores below:
aces = +1
cards 2 - 9 = face value
10's and face cards = 0
What's even more fascinating about baccarat is the interesting concept whereby any hands that exceed a score of 9, are reduced to single digit values – for instance, a 17 score becomes 7! The ultimate baccarat hand is achieved with a two card 9 value, followed by a score of 8 with two cards.
Following the initial baccarat bet, the dealer deals 2 cards for the house and 2 for the gamer. Any combo of 8 or 9 freezes the hand, and a draw is called if the hands have an equal score. Check out the array of other baccarat hands and their results:
Gamer hand is 6 or more = stand.
Gamer score of 5 or less = 1 more card.
Dealer hand of 7+ = stand.
House hand of 0 or 1 = 1 more card.
House hand = 3, and gamer’s third card is not 8 = house hits.
House hand = 4, and the gamer’s third hand is not a 1, 8, 9 or 0 = house hits.
House total = 5, and the gamer has a 4, 5, 6 or 7 = house hits.
House combo = 6, and the gamer’s third card is a 6 or 7 = house hits.
Basic baccarat payouts are equal to even money for a winning hand, but a huge 8:1 for a draw!
There are countless baccarat strategies used frequently on the web, none more so than the Lambouchere progressive betting system:
Step 1: Note down a series of numbers (such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Step 2: Place a wager equal to the sum of the first and last number (1+6=7)
Step 3: If you win, mark off the first and last number and repeat. If you lose, add the amount wagered to the end of the chain (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
Step 4: Repeat the strategy until you have wiped out every number on the chain
